About Us

Our Story

we're all on a journey

here's ours, so far

Inspire is a registered charity based in Ipswich, providing a professional counselling and training service.

Our Purpose

·      We believe that counselling should be available to all those who need it regardless of their ability to pay.

·      We aim to empower individuals by enabling change and growth through accessible counselling and training.

How it all began

In the early 90's a small group of local Christians recognised that churches could benefit from help and support in caring for those in their congregations. Training was offered to enable church leaders and pastoral workers to recognise and address the problems that people often experience in life, so that the church could better fulfil its responsibility to helping people change and grow. It soon became apparent that there was a need for a 'low cost' counselling service within the town and so a group of professionally qualified counsellors established a therapeutic counselling service, based at the Fletcher Centre.

What we do now

Over 25 years on, we continue to provide a highly respected counselling and training service from our home at the Fletcher Centre. We have also introduced a supervision service providing professional support to those involved in pastoral and helping work and clinical supervision to counselling practitioners.

Inspire is a Christian initiative dedicated to providing a caring and confidential counselling service; our centre is run by Christians and all our counsellors are professionally trained and supervised, offering a variety of counselling approaches.

We remain committed to offering professional development training for individuals and organisations.

We also work with churches and organisations to develop and deliver non professional training programmes in subjects including listening skills, pastoral care, grief, loss and bereavement, self care and much more. We are always happy to discuss new courses and to explore how we can help people to develop their knowledge, skills and ability to help others.
